ABOUT THE ARTWORK
You are invited to peer beneath the curtain of grief.
Behind it are fifteen vessels, most of which were found in the French Broad River. Some are filled with the waters of the Swannanoa and French Broad, others with tears of the artist, oils, and various medicines. Some vessels are turned inward to receive their portion of pain from the grief-giving breast of this universe. Others face outward, empty, having delivered their portion, maybe to you.
So peer beneath
The curtain of grief
A potion awaits
Bearing your name
We all must drink
Our portion of pain
